The Certified Builder Program

For years, HBAMT members have led Middle Tennessee’s home building industry in maintaining the highest standards of quality and ethics. The Certified Builder program is an example of HBAMT’s continued commitment to excellence.

For a list of HBAMT's Certified Builders, see our Classified section and select Certified Builders from the scroll menu, or download our PDF list. (If your browser does not automatically open PDF files, you will need Acrobat Reader software to view documents linked on our site. Download the Acrobat Reader, available free of charge from Adobe.)

What does a home with the Certified Builder symbol mean for you? It means that it’s unlikely you’ll experience a major problem in your new home. That’s because a builder has to meet some pretty tough experience standards to earn the HBAMT “Certified Builder” title.

The Certified Builder symbol of quality also means that all Certified Builder homes carry at least a one-year limited warranty. In the unlikely event you discover a workmanship or materials defect in your new home, the builder will, in most cases, provide replacement or repairs at no cost to you.

In fact, in the case of a buyer-builder disagreement, the HBAMT Certified Builder committee reviews and makes recommendations on all complaints filed against a Certified Builder. This ensures a consistent, fair buyer-builder mediation system. Most importantly, you can feel secure in the quality of your new home.

So, before you buy your new home, make sure it
carries the Certified Builder seal of quality. If the
builder is a Certified Builder, you’ll know. If he’s
not, you’ll know better.

Builders interested in earning the Certified Builder designation can call HBAMT at 377-1055 for more information. (Available only to HBAMT members.)
